Program Details:
- K-12 Math and K-8 ELA
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 2:15 - 4:00 PM PT.
- You will be interviewing for tutoring sessions taking place in the coming fall.

Job Overview
Cignition, Inc., a leading virtual tutoring provider utilizing a research-validated instruction model, is seeking dedicated virtual tutors to join our team. As a Cignition tutor, you will play a pivotal role in providing one-to-one and small group (up to 4:1) tutoring sessions, focusing on math and English Language Arts. Join our mission to build conceptual understanding, one engaged learner at a time.
Working directly with our experienced Program Management team, composed of former classroom educators and education experts, you will facilitate engaging and interactive tutoring sessions to foster student-to-student interaction.
Benefits and Pay Range
- Starting pay: $25/hr
- Part-time role with flexible hours (up to 20 hours per week, no set minimum)
- The more programs you complete the requirements for, the more tutoring sessions you are likely to be scheduled.
- We are currently looking for candidates who have availability in the following window:
- Must be available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday between the hours of 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. PT
- Opportunity to work with a highly experienced and supportive Program Management team
- Access to a comprehensive digital curriculum library
- Training provided to ensure effective use of internal resources
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct one-to-one and small group (up to 4:1) virtual tutoring sessions in math and English Language Arts.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions with students.
- Utilize an inquiry-based approach to encourage meaningful student engagement.
- Update availability regularly to ensure accurate scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred but not required.
- Our tutors average ten years of classroom experience, and we aim to maintain that level of quality.
- Proficiency in virtual meeting tools such as Google Meet and Zoom.
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with research-based instructional practices (e.g., the Science of Reading).
Service Requirements
- All tutor hires will be required to complete physical (ink) fingerprinting for AT LEAST one program. Failure to do so will result in not being scheduled for sessions, and you will be terminated.

- Speaker and Microphone: built-in or headphones
- Web Browser: Google Chrome
- Mobile Devices, iPads, and tablets are not acceptable
Internet Service Provider (ISP) - Bandwidth Requirements

Broadband/Fiber Minimum Speeds: 10mbps Upload and 5mbps Download

Delay (Latency): The time it takes for data to get from one point to another should be less than 150 milliseconds to avoid lag in audio or video.

Consistency (Jitter): The less variation in how quickly data arrives, the better. Aim for less than 40 milliseconds of jitter.

Reliability (Packet Loss) - Avg(Max): Ideally, no more than 2% of the data we send should get lost along the way.
